Upstate Winds This Summer

Upstate Winds will take a couple of months off during the summer. Rehearsals will resume in mid-August to prepare for the first performance of the 2012-13 season in early September. Plans are also in formation for a special performance in Greenwood on December 9.

Meanwhile, many members of the ensemble will participate again this year in the patriotic "Homeland" peformance at North Side Baptist Church in Greenwood. This year Homeland will be directed by one of its composers, Camp Kirkland. Watch for details from the Lakelands Baptist Association.

Onward and Upward

The Christmas concert Wednesday was a great success. The band played well. It was wonderful performing for a very appreciative audience of 200 or so at Harris Baptist Church, the largest we've had so far. Thanks to everyone for coming!

The band will gather again in late January or early February to begin preparing for an early March concert. Details to follow!

A Christmas Concert

A note to all our friends...

Our Christmas program is ready! Join us at Harris Baptist Church in Greenwood, South Carolina at 6:30 this Wednesday, December 14.

The program includes some introspective pieces, like Gustav Holst's setting of "In the Bleak Mid-Winter," as well as the pure fun of music like Leroy Anderson's original "Sleigh Ride," which was the most popular Christmas tune in America last year.
